PINE GLADES KAYAKING/CYPRESS CREEK HIKING

A Memorial Day in Palm Beach County Nature Areas with Amy Woods and Andy Preston

  •
You'll see the sign on Indiantown Road way out west.
  •
The Pine Glades Nature Area Kayak Launch. Brand new and easy to use.
  •
"Mr. Blue" and "Lemon Bay" are ready to get wet!
  •
Kayaks, Canoes, and Stand up Paddleboards are welcome, sorry no boats with electric or petroleum power.
  •
It was a beautiful day. Pine Glades has excellent long views.
  •
    Catch and release fishing only!
  •
Andy had a wet and wild kayak expedition, about 90 minutes paddling time, but we paused for a while under a shady tree on an island in the slough.
  •
Amy had a great voyage and will be back soon, ready to paddle again at the Pine Glades Nature Area Kayak Launch.
  •
Later we went for a hike further east on Indiantown Road on the north side across from the Publix at the Cypress Creek Nature Area.
  •
An authentic Chickee is the welcome center at Cypress Creek Nature Area.
  •
This is the largest Nature Area in Palm Beach County at over 2000 acres.
  •
Beautiful views on these scenic trails.
  •
Some of the trails are actually truck traces.
  •
It looks like they could use a little rain!
  •
The walk was a loop trail which I like best because it's all unexplored territory.
  •
The end of an excellent two part adventure. Please come and see for yourself, there is no fee at these Nature Areas. Andy
